What is Web TV?

Web TV is TV delivered to you via the internet, through your broadband connection. There are TV channels and programmes that are made available over the internet by a broad range of broadcasters and providers.

What is 123webtv?

123webtv is a TV guide for Web TV. It enables you to choose which Web TV channel or programme you want to watch. You find the programme then click on the link which takes you to the website of the channel or programme provider. 123 web tv.com works like a TV Guide on Satellite, Freeview or Cable where you click on a programme and watch that channel or programme from the broadcaster who provides it.

Is there a cost to 123webtv?

123webtv.com is free to use.. However some of the providers may charge you a fee to watch, like Setanta or Sky, but you need to subscribe to them directly. In the future we plan to have a login to enable you to use favourites and create your own TV Guide for Web TV, we are working on it now and we plan for that to be free as well.

What computer system do I need?

You can use 123webtv on a Mac or PC. 123webtv has been designed to work with any browser and most normal broadband connections. If you can watch and use BBC iPlayer for example, you can use 123webtv.

How do I make 123webtv.com my home page?

Your web browser is often preset to open on the manufacturer's homepage. You can change this so that your browser opens on a web page of your choice. Once you have set a homepage, the "home" button in your browser menu bar will always take you back to that page.

For Internet Explorer

  1. Go to 123webtv.com
  2. Click on 'Tools' then choose 'Internet Options'.
  3. Click the 'General tab'.
  4. In the homepage area click 'Use Current'.
  5. Click 'Apply', then 'OK'

For Firefox

  1. Go to 123webtv.com
  2. Click on 'Tools', then 'Options.'
  3. The popup window will open up with the 'General tab'.
  4. At the top of the window, you'll see 'Home Page Locations.
  5. Click on 'Use Current Page', click 'OK'.

What types of programmes can I see?

You can see programmes from channels such as BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Five, Sky, Lovefilm, Setanta, Cycling TV, Football club channels, Discovery, History, You tube – in fact around 75,000 programmes from over 200 at anytime.

How can I find what I want to watch?

123webtv have designed the TV guide that helps you easily select and sort out what you want to watch – so that in 3 to 5 clicks you can be connected to that channel or programme.

Why don’t 123webtv deliver me the programmes – why do you link to other people’s websites to play the channel or programme?

Each channel or programme provider does something slightly different via their websites. We try to deliver the 123webtv user the best experience from each of these providers – rather than re-invent the wheel – most of them do a great job delivering channels/programmes via the web already.

Is it legal?

Yes we have had our lawyers participate throughout the creation of 123webtv.com and we have deliberately gone down the legal route – because we believe that users would prefer to know they are connecting to legal TV programmes – rather than illegal ones. So we have not included any programmes we know to be illegal.
