Natalie Portman is an actress most famous for her role as Padmé Amidala in The Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. Born June 1981 in Jerusalem, Israel her first major role was as Mathilda in the 1994 crime thriller Leon with Jean Reno and Gary Oldman, the next year she appeared with Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and Val Kilmer in Michael Mann's action movie Heat.
In 1996 she played the role of Laura Dandridge in Woody Allen's musical film Everybody Says I Love You with Edward Norton, Drew Barrymore, Alan Alda and Goldie Hawn, the same year she performed a role in Tim Burton's spoof science fiction movie Mars Attacks! with Jack Nicholson, Glenn Close and Danny DeVito, next Portman co-starred with Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor in the first of George Lucas's Star War Prequel Trilogy Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, followed three years later in 2002 by Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones with Christopher Lee and Samuel L. Jackson.
In 2004 Natalie starred in Mike Nichols golden globe winning drama Closer along with Julia Roberts, Jude Law and Clive Owen, 2005 saw Natalie return to the star wars brand for the final episode of the trilogy Star Wars Episode III: Return of the Sith.
